The Ultima series of games featured a Virtue system that the player was required to follow in the game as the Avatar. These virtues were based on the codes of Chivalry and the Paths of Buddhism and consisted of the following system:

Compassion Pure Love Britain, Cove Mu Bard Despise Yellow Britain is the original town of Compassion, Cove is nearest the shrine.

Humility N/a. (New) Magincia, Paws Lum Shepherd Hythloth Grey Magincia was destroyed for Pride, whose mantra is Mul. New Magincia was founded on Humility.

Sacrifice Courage, Love Minoc Tinker Cah Covetous Orange
Spirituality Love, Truth and Courage Skara Brae Ranger Om The Abyss White

There are three principles that form the eight virtues:

Courage Serpent's Hold Bell
Love Empath Abbey Candle
Truth Lycaeum Book

These combined to form the axiom of Infinity, which is represented in Castle Britannia...

The Embodiment of the Virtues in the game is the Avatar, who the player is controlling. He is commonly seen with an Ankh which represents life and luck.
