RAM, Ram or ram can mean:

  • A ram is an entire male sheep. A castrated male sheep is a wether.
  • In Hinduism, Ram is the Hindi form of the name of Rama, an avatar of Vishnu or God. Alternatively, Ram is a generic term for God. Sikhism states that one of the names of God is Ram.
  • A battering ram is a long siege weapon designed to break down doors, city gates, walls, et cetera.
  • A ram was also a naval ship class in the 1860s. Its principal weapon was its own bow. The bow of the ram was hardened and reinforced to break the hull of an enemy ship. Rams were especially used during the American Civil War. They were often ironclads.
  • Ram or mast-ram is a system which controls the bend of a modern dinghy mast.
  • The term RAM is also sometimes used to refer to radar absorbing materials.
  • Rechargeable Alkaline Manganese batteries.
