The National Palace Museum is an art gallery and museum in Taipei, Taiwan. It contains the art treasures removed by the Nationalist government from the Chinese Imperial Palace at the end of the Chinese Civil War and taken to Taiwan.

In the past the museum has been often used for Kuomintang political purposes but with the fall of the Nationalist Party from power has changed its focus more to the exhibition of art including some materials on loan from the Peoples Republic of China.
