Jamey Farrell is a fictional character in the first season of the TV drama 24. She was portrayed by Karina Arroyave.
Personal Information
According to her biography [1], she got her Bachelor's degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics from UC Riverside. Before working with CTU she worked at Microsoft as a Security Specialist and at MIT as the "staff hacker" (although only for a brief time). She is proficient in Python, Java, C++, Perl, Lisp, and HTML. She has a son named Kyle Farrell.
Day 1
In the beginning of the season she worked with Milo Pressman on a key card that Agent Jack Bauer sends them. Although the card initially seems to indicate that Nina Myers had taken information out of the agency, it is initially dismissed as a faulty conclusion, after Nina suggests that she could not possibly have done it. At around 6:40 she takes a call from Teri Bauer saying that she is in trouble and that someone needs to pick her up. She sends Ira Gaines henchmen to pick Teri up and bring her to a compound, revealing that she is a traitor working for Ira Gaines. He had somehow contacted her (possibly through Nina Myers, as it is suggested that someone at CTU "turned" Jamey), and was offered $300,000 to assist Gaines—she said she took the money because she needed it for her son.
After she tells Tony Almeida that she just spoke to Nina, he suspects that she is lying, and he takes her into custody without Gaines' knowledge after Nina returns. She admits that she has been sending outside messages about the Palmer case, but she does not reveal her employer. Tony and Nina threaten her, but Jamey only wants to speak to agency counsel, as she will only talk about her actions if she obtains immunity. After they see that there was a problem at Senator David Palmer's speech, Tony and Nina order Jamey to tell Gaines that Jack was not involved in the disturbance. When Jamey's son is brought to CTU as a way to get her to talk, Jamey is distraught; Tony suggests that his seeing his mother in restraints and being accused of treason will be very traumatic to him. She asks for some time to think, and is left handcuffed to a table. When Nina and Tony return, it appears that she attempted suicide by slitting her wrists with pieces from a broken coffee cup. She died shortly thereafter without regaining consciousness. Later on, it is revealed that she had set up cameras to monitor CTU's actions for Ira Gaines; while Gaines had access to the cameras, it is not initially revealed who helped him.
At the end of the day, Jack, searching for evidence of Nina Myers' wrongdoing, finds a backup video from when Jamey "committed suicide" that shows that Myers entered the holding room and killed her to prevent her from revealing any information, covering up her death as a suicide.
