Scarred is a show on MTV that debuted on April 10, 2007. On the premiere of Scarred, several real-life risk-takers share the stories of how they became Scarred. The show features "Scar Stories", videos caught on the scene of individuals dramatically injuring themselves leaving scars, hence the shows name. At the end of each show as the last clip the have a video call "the most f***ed up clip of the day" which is usually the most stomach turing clip of that episode. Examples of such injuries is one skateboarder grinding a rail only to slip, land his stomach on the bar, bounce off and land on his face, this ripped his small and large intestines in half and caused only minor head injuries. The show is currently being hosted by Papa Roach front man Jacoby Shaddix. "Alive ('N Out of Control)'", by Jacoby's band, Papa Roach, is the theme song for the show. "Every scar has a story. Inspired by the popular user generated clips of crashes, wipeouts, and accidents that permeate the internet, Scarred is an inside look at some of the most gruesome scars from around the country. Each week, we'll track down some of these makeshift stunt men and women to find out what went wrong, what happened in the hospital, and how they got Scarred. This show is almost too painful to watch."

Though beginning with warnings familiar to shows like this discouraging home videos being sent, similar to Jackass, critics say that others will overlook these warnings, since the very show is a compilation of home videos of severe accidents.
