Gerontology Research Group
The Gerontology Research Group is a gerontology group headquartered at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. The purpose of the group is to study human longevity from an aggressive anti-aging perspective, looking for ways to slow and ultimately reverse human aging. The group was founded in 1990 by Dr. L. Stephen Coles.
In recent years, the group has expanded through its www.grg.org website. In 1998, the GRG site began tracking the world's By 2001, Guinness World Records had come to rely on GRG research as the primary (though not only) source of cases for its world's oldest person and oldest man titleholders.
While most of the significant media coverage has focused on this aspect, other areas of gerontology research have continued, such as research into amyloidosis.
