BS Stuff

Once again, someone disagrees with my interpretation of our very loose guidelines. Now I don't mind when two users like WJBscribe and Kathryn_NicDh%C3%A0na, but they've taken the disagreement and posted negative comments over at that RFC.

So ... could you please weigh in one last time ... new barnstar or a wikiproject award Wikipedia:Barnstar_and_award_proposals/New_Proposals#The_Copyeditor.27s_Award. Thanks. --evrik (talk) 22:56, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

you appear to be the creator of the "Mahjongg" style Wiktionary logo. The copyright situation of this logo is currently unclear. Please contact me under erik AT wikimedia DOT org so we can try to resolve this; what is needed is a formal transfer of copyright to the Wikimedia Foundation before this logo can be officially adopted.--Eloquence* 05:37, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I forgot to get back to you. My daughter-in-law went to visit her parents for a month or so and has taken the digital camera. As soon as she is back I will get the picture. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:44, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for passing the I&S&P show, and for fixing the minor problem. Much appreciated! Gran2 17:03, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Farewell week

Hi, hope you are well. I wanted to let you know that I have decided to leave Wikipedia and so this is my last week here. I've found it all very worthwhile, but I feel now is the time to leave, so I'm off to try new things, see more old things, etc. It was great to meet you here and particularly nice of you to consider me a "Wikichum". You have one of the best userpages I think I've ever seen on Wikipedia.

All the best and good luck with whatever you go on to do. Wikiwoohoo 18:49, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have taken care of everything that you suggested. My friend User:ERcheck will place the dates and stuff on the references becuase I don't want to mess it up. Besides all this, tell me - What did you really think of the subject of the article? Tony the Marine 21:36, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(P.S. ERcheck told me in my talk page that he will take care of dating the references)

O.K., I tried my hand at the last item standing, the reference thing. Tony the Marine 02:16, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Everything that you have requested is now officially done. Tony the Marine

I like your box diagram of the NWR I just would like to point out two things though - 1: you have missed out Suddery station which lies between Wellsworth and Brendam on Edward's branch line and 2: The Mid Sodor Railway does or did not cross the NWR main line at Crovans Gate other thn it is very good Penrithguy 16:32, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Winter service vehicle

Hi there. The article has come a long way, and I don't see why it shouldn't pass FAC—I've fixed a couple of typos and such, but since I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject, I don't think I could be of much more help :) The prose looks nice, it's very well-referenced... I hope it gets more participation at FAC. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 19:49, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, congratulations on the FA—well-deserved. Happy editing, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:18, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Thank you for your beautiful words and the kind welcome, dear Smurray! It's great to see friendly faces like yours again, and visit one the loveliest userpages and its even lovelier owner :) How have you been these months? We have much to talk, I'm sure ;) Hugs from your friend, Phaedriel - 18:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Aww, so best of luck with your exams, and hurry back, will you, please? :) Regarding my username, of course, it's not like it's a mistery :) I've always felt attraction to names that finish in "iel", for some unknown reason. "Gabriel", "Galadriel", "Uriel", all sound very musical in my ears. When I was trying to come up with a name to register myself, "Sharon" and "SharonK" were already taken, so I remembered an old game I played with an ex bf, Dungeon Siege, were you could get an NPC called... Phaedriel :) I didn't think much at the moment, I simply wanted to make a few edits. Little I knew then that it'd become so identified with me! :) And yours, if I may ask? I always find it very nice to exchange these wiki experiences with my friends! Phaedriel - 19:30, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for commenting on the peer review request for 1913 Liberty Head Nickel. In accordance with your suggestion, I've added two examples (cited to Bowers) of how the coin could legitimately have been produced. As for the intro, do you have any suggestions for expanding it? I'm having trouble figuring out how to do so without introducing unnecessary redundancy with other parts of the article. *** Crotalus *** 22:32, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Winter service vehicle

I was wondering when the bit about image location was included in the MOS because having all images on the same side is not appealing to me and it's something I can't fix. If I were to set the image size differently in my prefs, I'd get problems with whitespace from clashing images. - Mgm|(talk) 07:47, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance needed - Re: Previously Failed RfA

Dear Smurrayinchester,

I would like to ask for your assistance. About 14 months ago, I self nominated for an RfA, which I ultimately withdrew (see here). During that RfA, you lodged an oppose vote, and I have taken a lot of the comments from that failed RfA on board since then. I am now up to an average of near on 875 to 900 edits per year, having only recently got back to the net from health issues (Throat cancer), and I am once again considering attempting a request for adminship. I am writing to all those editors who opposed my original self-nomination to ask them to see if they would be kind enough to review my recent work, and to see whether they consider that I have taken those points from my old RfA on board enough to warrant another attempt.

I am enjoying getting back into the swing of working on Wikipedia again, and looking forward to enjoying many more years of work. I am now using Twinkle and VandalFighter for my reversion work on RCP and CVU, and looking to the future.

Thank you for your time, and for your comments.

Religion and Spirituality barnstar

It seems like the barnstar that you created almost 2 months ago on Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals/New Proposals never gets approved even though everyone supports. To make things more interesting, the page will be gone very shortly. The admins have told us that we no longer need to get approvals from the community before adding barnstars (as I did to the Environmental Barnstar on today). I suggest you to use this time period to put it up as an official Wikipedia barnstar before they raise the requirements again.

Btw, nice userpage.

Hi. Would you do as you suggest and replace the image that you are concerned about with the one that you feel is OK to use. Regards. SilkTork 11:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sunshine

Variety says: "Kuechler's atmospheric signature look combined with an inspired production design, which includes golden space suits, should make "Sunshine" stand out from the sci-fi crowd." —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:14, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Belated thanks

More belated thanks

For your excellent work in drawing up the Business and Economics Barnstar: I had suggested it ages ago, saw some rather apathetic feedback, and assumed that that was the end of the matter. Looking through the list of Barnstars this morning, I suddenly saw it, resurrected, with a lovely design by you. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to do the work, which is quite beyond me.

PS: I've awarded it to Kittybrewster for his excellent work (still unfinished!) on Lloyd's of London.--Major Bonkers (talk) 08:20, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
