Tim & Bob

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! You recently added an external link to MySpace in an article. It has been removed because the link pointed to a non-encyclopedic source. Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on external links for more information.

Article

Hello, I would suggest you try making the article here in your userspace in the meantime, although based on my understanding of the topic, it does not look remotely encyclopedic. --Improv 22:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've removed the delprot page - you can move the article back if you like. I'm not willing to say that I think it's notable now, but I'm also not willing to stand against it. If you want me to remove the redirect from your userpage after you finish moving it, drop me another note. Take care. --Improv 17:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

N'Dea

hey i messed up your links by retitling reference section on N'dea, and I haven't learned how to fix links yet, sorry but they'll need to be repaired and i can't do it, so... don't be mad at me I hope.--Tednor 23:01, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I put it back in as I felt bad about it, also I got to add more info. - the fun part!--Tednor 02:46, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey nice job with N'Dea cleanup (I think the Chaka Comparison thing helps relate the musical styles, but otherwise I like everything you did!) those were mostly my adds done while I was not logged in. --Tednor 17:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The source for her selling the house is the linked article with Remix, as well as a radio interview that i found online. I don't know how to do links, last time i tried to do one i wiped half the page! so..... It's looking fantastic.--Tednor 23:58, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, can you have a peak at Statues (Moloko album) for me? I'm kind of torn in that the material bears description and the breakup of Brydon and Murphy is extemely relavent to any criticism of the album, but of course it's unfair to impose my POV with any descriptions I offer. I know there's a little too much "me" in there so any editing suggestions are SO appreciated (and you've definitely done N'Dea proud my friend!)--Tednor 12:31, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mute Math

The only update I've ever done to the Mute Math page is to redirect The Fray to The Fray (band). Teemu08 18:54, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moloko

Thanks for having a look. You NEED to hear Roisin Murphy sing, amazing vocalist and very intelligent. What I wanted to say with the section about "Over and Over" is that a. It's a long song with a definite message and was placed at the end of the group's last album (for now anyway), b. "Take My Hand" was an upbeat cut that was rejected for the album (presumably by the group themselves, who've shown considerable creative control at all stages), so c. this supports the notion of the album's intended statement, narrative and otherwise. What I didn't want to do was get subjective and impose my POV on others, but rather introduce that element of criticism and enjoyment to potential listeners (in other words, describe but not define the work and it's historical context). Anyway the album is a masterpiece, especially if you follow all of their work, amazing group. thanks again--Tednor 21:16, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was a very quick correction of the citation problem, nice job! ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nah, I'm not an admin, just been around for a while. Editing Wikipedia is a compulsive endeavor, in a few months your talk page will also grow too large to manage :) ˉˉanetode╦╩ 06:44, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Aside from the fringe benefits of professional recognition, monetary compensation, and gratuitous sex with groupies, wasting time on wikipedia has also proven to be a favorable alternative to chronic alcoholism and depression. That, and every now and then I get the unexpected pleasure of communicating with an amateur psychoanalyst like yourself. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 08:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I was wondering if you could help me out with Cheryl "Coko" Clemons' page. You are good at finding information Jgcarter 17:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, dont sweat it! I'll take care of it! I just wanted to let you know about that. Thanks for catching my mispelling of album...better work on that. I never thought of redirecting my user page...thanks! Now my wiki link isnt red anymore. YAY! Jgcarter 21:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Mess up?! Of course not! It looks great! Thanks a bunch!! Jgcarter 01:00, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was wondering what the purose was of bring back the singles part if its already listing under the discogrophy? I do understand, though, why you added the "Other" part. Just curious of why. Happy New Years! Jgcarter 17:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cece Winans is godmother to Whitney's kids. Sorry about my bad wording. Jgcarter 17:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whitney Houston has more than one child...how do you think we should word this? Jgcarter 20:01, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah but in Cece's biography she claims to be all her kids godmother Jgcarter 20:08, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I must be mistaken. I cant find the book but when I do, I'll pull up that info Jgcarter 21:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! I'm willing to help you any way I can. I'm busy at the moment but I will definatly expand the article (charts, content etc). Jgcarter 14:13, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm gonna start on the singles now as well as correcting some informations on their a-l-b-u-m (caught myself there =P). After that, I'll expand Cece's page with album articles. Jgcarter 23:54, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Souldier77! Can you give me your e-mail address so I can e-mail you the picture of "Jesus Has A Lot To Give"? I'm having a few complications. LMBO

Hi! Yeah, you're right, I should probably only include wiki links where the reader is likely to want to find out more on that subject (ie- introduction). But under the Guest Appearances, Karen does get a bit too many wiki links. Where do you think they are appropriate? I want to get a second opinion before I change the page. Cherrelle

Hi, I got the info of her UK chart placings from www.polyhex.com, but I'm sure that info also appears on the British Guinness book of hit singles... Cheers :D Delage

Hi again. I am curious as to whether or not I properly sourced my additions to J Moss's page. I remembered what you said about naming sources. Well, thanks a lot and hope you had a happy new year! Jgcarter 15:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re Minnie Riperton

Hey there I'm sorry about making that edit regarding Tynisha Keli. I didn't realize that I was advertising lol; I only put her myspace there because that's the only place you can hear it and I thought people would want to hear it.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Macro-flier.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Macro-flier.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Earthsuit EP release date

Hey there!

I've never been privileged enough to own either the "Headless Clown" or Noise for Your Eyes EPs, so I've only got third-party sources to go on. I had always thought that both EPs were released in 1998. However, here you changed the date on Earthsuit's page from 1998 to 1997. I figured that was the correct date, which is why I recently fixed the rest of the dates referenced on the Earthsuit page and in the Noise for Your Eyes chronology. But, I see you just changed the date on NfYE for Earthsuit back to 1998, saying the art has that date. Was your earlier edit a mistake, or somethin'? I'm confused. Fair use rationale for Image:StacieOrricoBAPromo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:StacieOrricoBAPromo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 07:59, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Winans into The Winans

Thanks Souldier77. Both pages look much better now.
I'm new to Wikipedia and am not sure of the process for merging one page into another. Can you point me at the "instructions" please?
Regarding merging, what's to discuss? (i.e. I thought it was pretty obvious they should be merged.) Educate me please.
Regards (and thanks) (talk) Pdfpdf 01:04, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"It looks like we should probably just do a redirect from Winans to The Winans ..." I agree.
"I can do it if you want me to... since I'm all in Wikipedia mode today" Woo hoo! I'm not going to get in the way of someone who sounds that motivated!! Again, regards and thanks. (talk) Pdfpdf 02:43, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well done. Thanks. Pdfpdf 02:52, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again, I was wondering where you got all those single covers from. Thanks! Jgcarter 22:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! In my whole collection, I only have one single...lol. So do you have any more single covers of CeCe Winans? I am probaly going to work on her page some more soon Jgcarter 01:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:VBAPromoShot.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:VBAPromoShot.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:17, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationales

Your rationales were probably fine. I am kind of irritated at the requests for rationales on images where the rationale for it to be fair use should be completely obvious, so I automated it to remove the template asking for "fair use rationales" and add a standard rationale that works with most fair use images. I hit a button saying "save" or "ignore" depending on if my rationale fits, and so now a few of them have rationales written out twice. Sorry if you felt you were being overwritten - I was just making it easier on myself so I could automate it all.  :) --Strangerer (Talk) 20:03, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oh, and you can remove that {{dated dfu}} template and the comment below it if you've written a rationale. I've seen at least one rogue admin go off and delete images in that category without looking to see if the rationale had been written out, so remove the templates so that they don't get deleted accidentally. --Strangerer (Talk) 20:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
