By challenging and stimulating students, the AP Program provides access to high quality education, accelerates learning, rewards achievement and enhances both high school and university programs.

AP was established in 1960 in the United States to create unity between Grade 12 and university to lesson repetition and encourage intellectual momentum. Some of the benefits of AP:

  • This gives students a tremendous sense of accomplishment as they compare their knowledge and understanding of a university-level subject with the high academic standards established by college/university faculty.
  • Students study in greater depth, develop analytical reasoning skills, and form disciplined study habits that can contribute to continued success at the university level. - students improve their chances of being accepted by the university of their choice - students are often exempted from introductory courses at university - students are eligible for AP Scholar Awards.

Each exam is given an overall grade on a 5-point scale:

5 - extremely well qualified 4 - well qualified 3 - qualified 2 - possibly qualified 1 - no recommendation.

A grade 4 or 5 is equivalent to an A.
