Public Knowledge is a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying group that promotes sensible intellectual property law, competition and choice in the digital marketplace, and an open standards/end-to-end Internet. Its president and co-founder is Gigi Sohn, Mike Godwin is senior technology counsel. Peter Suber directs its open access project. Its directors include MIT professor Hal Abelson, Stanford Law professor Larry Lessig, and former FCC chairman Reed Hundt.
