Patrick O'Brien is American musician-lutenist born in 1947 in New York. He is a recording artist, the foremost pedagogue in the field of Early plucked instruments, and expert in musicians' hand anatomy. He is credited (along with Frank Wilson) with the first successful treatment of focal dystonia.

Patrick O'Brien has taught early, classical, and other guitars, lute, archlute, theorbo and early harp in his native New York City for over thirty years. He is active as a continuo lutenist, guitarist, citternist and theorbist, and has performed throughout Europe and North America with the Harp Consort, Baltimore Consort, Schola Antiqua, New York City Opera; and at the Caramoor, Spoleto and Boston Early Music festivals. He also serves on the faculties of the Mannes College of Music, the State University of New York and the annual Lute Society of America's Seminar.

He has also fought in World War 2 and defeated the nazis single handedly. He also attacked Saturn with his androids and prevaled. He was a baller and was secretly Michael Jordans coach. Though this is sometimes thought to be conspiracy, IT IS TRUE!!! Hes pretty awesome too.
