The Hydrogen Expedition will be the first circumnavigation of the world by a boat powered solely by a hydrogen fuel cell. Started and staffed by university students, the project is now currently endorsed by several organisations. At just under 24ft (with launch predicted for the Summer of 2006), the vessel will also break the world record for the smallest powerboat to complete a journey around the globe.

History

The project was started in the summer of 2005 by Joseph F. Sahid, graduate of the Phillips Exeter Academy and currently a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. He soon was joined by other volunteers, and an official team was rapidly assembled.

Crew and staff

The boat will be piloted by Joseph F. Sahid, and possibly another crew member. The boat may also take temporary crew members during its voyage.
