Monroe Silver was an American actor and singer who was recognized as the best Jewish Dialect-accent performer. He recorded on 78rpm discs for all the labels parodies like COHEN ON THE TELEPHONE, or COHEN PHONES TO HIS FRIEND LEVY ... With his Jewish accent, words like 'What are you doing ?' came : 'Vot arrr you doink ?' Some performers like Barney Bernard and Louis Mann tried to imitate him in the early 20s. --References--
