Annexation

Pfafftown is currently up for annexation by two of its neighbors, Winston-Salem, and Lewisville, North Carolina. North Carolina law currently has no restrictions on city's annexing territories, so Pfafftown citizens have been trying to incorporate, but North Carolina laws are not supportive of incorporation, making it difficult.

The people of Pfafftown have been trying to stop Winston-Salem's imposing annexation, but so far nothing has proved to work. Pfafftown has formed a group, Forsyth Citizens Against Forced Annexation,

and has won several cases in local and state court. Unfortunatley, this will most likely prove to be a losing battle, as North Carolina state laws support the growth of established, larger cities, over the formation and development of smaller cities. Parts of Pfafftown have been annexed by Lewisville, and Winston-Salem is pressing forward with no signs of stopping.
