Notable Characteristics

Element 112 is one of the heaviest known elements and the atoms of the element decompose through the emission of alpha-particles with a half life of only about 240 µs (microseconds).

Uses

  • Element 112 has no uses because only a few atoms of Ununbium have been made.

History

On the 9th February 1996 at 22:37 at the GSI in Darmstadt, Germany, Element 112 was discovered. The current name is the IUPAC's tempoary systematic element name.
