Cherish

Cherish is an American R&B group consisting of sisters Farrah King, 23, Neosha King, 21, and twins Felisha King and Fallon King, 20. The four sisters are originally from South Carolina. The band is signed to Capitol Records and Sho'nuff Records.

Career

Cherish first stepped on the scene in 2003 but was not well known. Their first single named "Miss Pimptress" was produced by Jermaine Dupri, written by Kandi and featured Da Brat. They had been signed to Warner Bros.' imprint Reprise Records. They could also be found on Da Brat's single "In Luv Wit Chu" in 2003. They also recorded 3 songs for The Powerpuff Girls: Power Pop soundtrack called Chemical X, Power of A Female and Me And My Girls. They completed a whole album named "The Moment" that was shelved for undisclosed reasons. After 3 years the group came back with the summer hit "Do It to It" which featured Sean Paul of the YoungBloodZ. The single hit the Billboard Hot 100 at number 12 and entered many other charts including the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs on Billboard and many more. The second single off their debut album was released in September 2006. It was a ballad by the name of "Unappreciated".

Unappreciated

Unappreciated (2006)

Unappreciated is Cherish's debut album. They wrote almost the whole album and said this work is so much more mature and themselves than their unreleased previous work. The album had productions from Jermaine Dupri, Don Vito, and Jazze Pha. Critical reviews for the album were mixed. "Though they're still in their late teens and early twenties, they write a lot of their lyrics, and they sound as sure of themselves on "Unappreciated" as any R&B group with a handful of albums behind them" Andy Kellman of All Music Guide quoted and gave the album 2½ stars and named it an 'AMG pick'. Blender Magazine was a little more critical of the review of the album as can be found on its website. After the summer hit "Do It to It", their debut album was released off Capitol Records on August 15 2006 and was named Unappreciated. It debuted on the chart at number 4 selling 91,000 copies making it one of the only R&B girl group projects to hit the top 5 on the Billboard 200 in almost a year. The previous group was The Pussycat Dolls with PCD. The album has been certified Gold for shipments of 500,000 units and has sold 500,537 units so far. The album has spawned the singles "Do It to It", "Unappreciated", and "Chevy".

New Album

Cherish is working on their new album. Although "Keep it Fresh" was rumored to be their first single, the Cherish sisters have already confirmed that it is not.

Controversy

There has been a rumor speculating that Bow Wow was involved with one of the girls from the group. The twins said that he owes them an apology on 106 & Park. When he was asked about the rumor, he made no comment.

Appearances

They had appeared on Spring Bling '07 to perform and in the "Sibling Rivalry" portion of the games in which they battled Pretty Ricky and defeated them in the contest. http://www.springbling.bet.com
