I was born to Italian birthparents with genealogical roots in Sicily. I was raised in a working class suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. My father is a tool and die repairman. My mother is a caregiver. I have a bachelor of arts degree in English (creative writing) from Cleveland State University and an associates degree in journalism from Cuyahoga Community College.
I have been a freelance writer since June 1994. I have published my own newsletters in the past. My articles cover various topics from current events to local music and other forms of entertainment. I have movie reviews on Yahoo, MSN Entertainment, and a certain social networking website that cannot be mentioned on Wikipedia for egocentric reasons, for fear of being blacklisted (a.k.a. censorship).
I have been a patron of the humanities since my collerge days. Because I was born with diabetes mellitus type 1, I have devoted my time with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in volunteer events. During my career in writing, I have met my share of celebrities in the past, including film makerMichael Moore, journalist Tim Russert, and reporter Chris Matthews during his Hardball College Tour back when I was in college.
