Cassandra Claire

Cassandra Claire is an author of fanfiction, particularly noted for her creation of the Very Secret Diaries, a series of satirical slash fiction stories written in the form of diary entries by various characters in the Lord of the Rings movies following the release of The Fellowship of the Ring. The Very Secret Diaries were widely read both within and outside of the fanfiction community, and were something of a brief internet fad. Claire wrote a handful more stories with the release of The Two Towers, but then abandoned the series.
She had previously achieved prominence within online fandom for her fanfic Draco Dormiens, based on the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. Accusations of plagiarism caused the fanfiction.net website to remove her work; the resulting schism among HP ficwriters caused many of them to follow Claire to FictionAlley.org, an HP-specific archive. She is considered one of the original Harry Potter Big Name Fans and is almost solely responsible for the fanon black leather pants version of Draco Malfoy. She has since been the subject of much controversy in the fandom and of much fandom wank.

- In "Draco Dormiens," it is shown that Malfoy Manor, the residence of the Malfoy family, is near Chipping Sodbury. Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling was born in Chipping Sodbury.
