Elena Rodenbaugh Proctor Slough (July 8th 1889-October 5th 2003) was the oldest person in the United States from April 2003 until her death that October.

Born in Horsham,Pennsylvania,she married twice and had children by each marriage.Her nonagenarian daughter died three days before her,at the same Cape May,New Jersey nursing home.

Some sources date her birth to 1888 but this is based on more recent records than those fixing her birth as in 1889.
