CD Numancia
Club Deportivo Numancia de Soria are a Spanish football team from Numancia in Soria. Founded on April 9 1945, they will play the 2004-05 season in the Primera División, having earned promotion from the Segunda División.
They play in red shirts and blue shorts. Home stadium is the Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos that seats 9,800 spectators.
Having spent a long time in the Tercera division, the club has made consistent progress recently, even reaching as high as the Primera division for two seasons prior to 2004.
A recent success for the club (while playing in the Segunda A) was a good run in the Copa del Rey, eliminating three Primera División clubs in 1995-96. Beating Real Sociedad, Racing de Santander, and Sporting de Gijón, they were finally knocked out in the quarter finals by FC Barcelona.
