Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan born on 16 August 1970 is an Indian film star working in Bollywood.

Biography

Khan was born on 16 August 1970 in New Delhi, India. His parents are Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore and cricket player Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Khan has one sister, Soha Ali Khan who has also entered acting with the 2004 release, Dil Maange More. He married actress Amrita Singh in October 1991, but they separated in 2004. He has two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan who are living with their mother. Khan has been acting in films since 1993; his most important role was probably in the 1997 Hamesha with Kajol. However, his acting career went through a relative slump until 2001, when he was cast as Sameer in Farhan Akhtar's hit film, Dil Chahta Hai. This firmly established him as one of the industry's most bankable stars, and he followed it with memorable performances as a comic eligible bachelor in Kal Ho Naa Ho, a manipulative gangster in Ek Hasina Thi, and a light-hearted cartoonist in Hum Tum. For his role in Hum Tum opposite Rani Mukherjee he received the Filmfare Best Comedian Award.
