Is there a difference between the old "venereal" diseases and the newer term "Sexually transmitted diseases". All of the diseases on the list may be transmitted by sexual contact (or at least the virus that causes it for cervical cancer). However not all hepatitis and, I think, cervical cancer are caused by sexual transmission. How does the nomenclature work. Rmhermen 07:39 Aug 15, 2002 (PDT)
