Spaugstofan
Spaugstofan is a weekly Icelandic Saturday night sketch comedy show hat has been broadcast, with breaks, on public television channel Sjónvarpið since 1989. It's the highest rated show on Icelandic television. Generally, the sketches focus on showing the public events of the past week in a humorous light, or the exploits of recurring characters in the show. The cast of Spaugstofan is comprised of actors Örn Árnason, Karl Ágúst Úlfsson, Pálmi Gestsson, Sigurður Sigurjónsson and Randver Þorláksson. This line-up has remained more or less unchanged since the genesis of the program.
However, as of autumn/winter 2007 and on, Randver Þorláksson is excluded from the main cast.
