Maurice Chavez is a fictional radio presenter in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories voiced by Philip Anthony Rodriguez He hosts the "Pressing Issues" discussion program on theVCPR station.

Over the course of several editions of the show, it is learned that Chavez once made a living as a clown. In the transmission featuring Vice City congressman Alex Shrub, it is said by Shrub (who withholds information on the citizens) that Maurice also applied for a sex change, until an "idiot liberal felt sorry for him" and gave him his own radio show. He also writes a newspaper column according to Shrub.

His name and voice suggest that he is of Cuban origin, and he becomes irritated when his name is pronounced incorrectly. In one edition of "Pressing Issues" he is almost shot dead by the power-crazed Pastor Richards, but he survives through quick thinking and flattery, as he said to the pastor: "You're the boss! You're the king!" when he was in danger of getting shot.

Although normally calm, he loses his patience (probably due to nearly getting shot by Pastor Richards) in his next broadcast when all his guests (goth manic depressive Konstantinos Smith, "motivational con man" Jeremy Robard, and Vice City's citizen of the year Jenny Louise Kraft, a clinical depressive who has taken too many anti depressants) start doing everything except "pressing the issue", and he then gets in a tough discussion with Jeremy, only to then lose it all and hit him very hard with a paperweight, to which he then calms down and says "If at first you don't get hurt, hit the guy very hard in the face with a paperweight. It just worked for me, and I feel like a million dollars."
