Wikipedia:Proposed article mergers
This page is an incomplete list of proposed mergers. Anyone may list any article merger proposal here. This is optional, and it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here. See Category:Merge by month for all pages needing to be merged.
Guidelines
In general, this page should be used primarily to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers (particularly those of a controversial nature), or assistance with difficult or complicated mergers. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below.
- If you want to show off your work, use the talk page.
- Category mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion.
- For a complete list of articles with current merger proposals, please see Category:Articles to be merged.
- If you need help with renaming or moving, consult Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page.
- For guidance on merging, consult the Integration WikiProject.

- Propsed merger of Tropical Storm Humberto (2007) into 2007 Atlantic hurricane season. Humberto appears to be a completely non-notable tropical storm. In my opinion, it should either be merged, or AFDed. Bluap 04:09, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Strongly disagreed and disputed - please check with the the relevant Wikiproject before doing such a rash action. Hurricanehink (talk) 04:14, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of St. Gaudens Double Eagle into Double Eagle. The first article is about a particular subset of the mintage of the coin that is the subject of the second article.-MBK004 19:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of Scam letters into Spam (electronic) and/or E-mail spam. The Scam letters article seems to exist primarily to promote a particular Web site, and contains numerous grammatical and spelling errors. What good information there may be on that page would seem more appropriate on the existing articles related to spam.--Inimino 21:01, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (2003) and Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (AFSCME) into Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (1968) - There's some disagreement over which of the two current active PATCO unions is legitimate. There's really not enough to warrant three separate articles for these, and the main reason they've been separated here is to placate edit wars. One PATCO article can easily mention both spinoffs and explain the history of the current disagreement as well. Torc2 00:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Comment - Actually it's more complicated than that. Both unions are legally registered labor unions, so they are both legitimate. There was an edit conflict between two newish
WP:COIeditors, and it appears to be resolved with the untangling of the previously intermixed information.--Bookandcoffee 08:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)- Edit wars are continuing with these. I don't think this issue is resolved, and still believe the best way to resolve it is with a merger. Torc2 19:35, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Brava people and Bravanese people - Same subject matter--Moglex 15:03, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Wikinfo and History of Wikipedia. The former is chiefly notable for its role in the latter, and has few or no reliable sources dealing with it as an independent concept. Mackensen (talk) 18:26, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
August 2007
- Proposed merger of Irish Socialist Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War with Connolly Column - Same subject matter --Figarema |Talk 16:34, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of The Addams Family (TV series) with The Addams Family (1964 TV series) - both articles are about the same series. - 16:47, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Catchlight into Catch light while google will define catchlight, websites like www.photography.com and www.ephotozine.com refer to catch light as two words. Campanile 12:02, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Musicmatch into Musicmatch Jukebox (Discuss) -- Cmjc80 07:47, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of List of Westfield Group shopping centres in Australia into List of Westfield Group shopping malls. The main article contains lists of stores for all countries except Australia, which requires an external wikilink reference. For consistency, the stores of all countries of this group should reside in the main article. Truthanado 23:31, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of List of Westfield Group shopping centres in New Zealand into List of Westfield Group shopping malls. The New Zealand article has the same information as the other article, and the other article is larger, older and contains information about several countries. Truthanado 23:23, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Interior decoration into Interior design. The terms "interior design" and "interior decoration" overlap somewhat and are narrowly defined to apply only to the U.S. context as to usage because of the U.S. state regulation of the practice of interior design. Less distinction in the use of both terms applies to the international context. →Lwalt ♦ talk 23:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of South Acton tube station into South Acton railway station. This is practically the same structure, the former tube station was just a single platform alongside the railway station. --Voyager 09:02, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have proposed that Binary economics be merged into Participatory economics. Some help and feedback will be needed as to how best proceed, as these two articles about two fringe theories are quite long and complicated. --Childhood's End 18:23, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of many MIT-related stubby, orphaned, abandoned, soapboxing, indiscriminate collections, and/or individually non-notable/important articles into sections of "mother" articles to facilitate standardization of coverage and style. - Proposed merger of Shichi-Go-San and Chitoseame. Chitoseame (thousand year candy) is a term which is narrated (and be eaten) only about shichi-go-san (one of a rite of passage of Japan). Discussion is on Talk:Shichi-Go-San#Merging --Nightshadow28 03:36, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Live Trax (Megadeath EP) and Live Trax (Megadeth EP); I inappropriately tried to move the page because Megadeth was incorrectly spelled, but I copied and pasted instead. The new name should be "Live Trax (Megadeth EP).
- Maybe to be double check but I think the articles Cyclostyle (copier) and Mimeograph machine need to be merged because it is only different names given to a same machine. The first one is very small compared to the second one so maybe a deletion of the first one and then a redirection would be the best. Popol 1d 17:41, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Hundred Years' War (1337-1360), Hundred Years' War (1369-1389),and Hundred Years' War (1415-1429) in Hundred Years' War.Creating separate articles which should really belong together in one article is just not on. To have these separate articles, makes it so much more difficult when you are looking for any particular action which happens to have taken place in a particular year, when the articles are so spread apart. They should and do belong under one article. Dieter Simon 23:21, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Church of St. Anne, Talaulim and St. Anne Church, Goa. Both refer to the same church in Goa, probably the largest church in Asia.
- Proposed merge of Gunslinger (American football) into Quarterback. Discuss on the relevant talk page. Juan Miguel Fangio| ►Chat 05:21, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Democratic Party (Turkey, current) and Democratic Party (Turkey, historical). They are essentially different episodes of the same story. -Mikedaventry 16:59, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- There was some discussion before on merging P53 with TP53. It is my opinion that the best thing would be to have this information in one article, but at least they should be renamed and put in a disambig for TP53 - because both protein and gene are named TP53. --Maxxicum 09:24, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- The entirety of Category:Computer olympiads should be merged into its parent article Computer Olympiad. We don't need a separate article for each year the competition has been held, and if the complete lists of medal-winners are kept at all they would be better presented in a single table, making it possible to compare the same event across different years. —Blotwell 00:44, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
July 2007

- Merge Canterbury Crusaders into Crusaders (rugby). Most links to Canterbury Crusaders refer to rugby team, is primary article. See discussion here. - Shudde talk 00:24, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Merge First-party developer and Second-party developer into Third-party developer. The two articles have very little information, and it would be better to have them all in one article. --85.157.208.100 17:15, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Athenian Assembly into Ecclesia (ancient Athens). "Ecclesia" is the more common and historically correct term of reference to the Athenian Assembly. Cplakidas 14:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Easy Access into Accessibility. "Easy Access" doesn't seem to be a notable term and seems to mean "accessible". Jason McHuff 05:05, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Little Green Footballs awards to Little Green Footballs. Award doesn't seem to have much notability outside of the LGF community. Should be covered under main article.Horrorshowj 00:26, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Community of Interest with Community-of-interest network. The latter is a means of interconnection, and does have some Internet technology implications, but the two topics are logically close. Perhaps they should also reference Intranet and Extranet, which are specialized communities of interest with particular technological implementations. Howard C. Berkowitz 17:52, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Pamban Bridge with Pamban channel;both are to be Linked to Rameshwaram and India/ Tamilnadu(Indian State)--Indiancorrector 09:25, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Morphogenetic field (Rupert Sheldrake) to be a small subheading within Morphic field. -- Duae Quartunciae (t|c) 19:39, 18 July 2007 (UTC) Addendum. After lengthy discussion, merge was approved by seven to two. Merge duly carried out as proposed. —Duae Quartunciae (talk · cont) 13:17, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura, California to Ventura County, California. Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura is the only single-county Core Based Statistical Area in California that does not redirect to the appropriate county article. The money quote: "Locals generally refer to the area simply as 'Ventura County'." Then why does the area have its own content-free article apart from Ventura County? — X ile 03:37, 15 July 2007 (UTC) - Talk
- Merge Green jersey to maillot vert. There is some redundancy, and the articles are essentially about the same thing (maillot vert speaks specifically to its use in the Tour de France, but it could easily incorporate the information in green jersey). I favor the title green jersey (last time I checked, this is the English Wikipedia), but as the articles now stand, maillot vert is the superior one. Nosleep1234 12:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge California's Gold to Huell Howser. Both articles are not that long, and one is really not notable without the other, and both subjects could be better served by one decent article as opposed to two overlapping similar articles that are not well written at the moment. XinJeisan 21:56, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge The Transformers to Transformers (fiction). The latter is a long, fleshed-out article, while the former seems to be mostly a list, duplicating information from the latter article. JIP | Talk 16:04, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge List of godfathers into Crime boss. Most of the content is already redundant, and the term "godfather" is not only a non-technical, slang term, but isn't mentioned or cited in the majority of the listed articles.-Andrew c [talk] 13:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge dataflow language and dataflow into dataflow programming. This would follow the convention set by imperative programming, functional programming, procedural programming, declarative programming, etc. DancingHacker 22:48, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge The Bronx High School of Science List of Distinguished Alumni into Bronx High School of Science to avoid more listcruft. I'm a Distinguished Alumni (class of '82) of The Bronx High School of Science, BTW. Bearian 17:52, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Victim of a crime into Victimology, or vice-versa. I created Victim of a crime, based on a suggested from WP:AR1 to created an article with the politically incorrect title of Victim-proneness. The topics discussed are worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia. They both have their strengths, but also weaknesses. Strengths: good citations, sources, and cross-references. Negatives: neither article is complete, both have phrases "blame the victim" and "street-walking" that don't really fit in Wikipedia. When I asked my paralegal intern to proof-read and edit the two articles, she was appalled at the language, especially in Victimology. She blanched at the wordings, which is quite difficult for her. What do folks think? Bearian 14:45, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Mors Syphilitica into Lisa Hammer as suggested in (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Mors_Syphilitica) Bigdaddy1981 02:10, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge National Assembly for Wales 2007 boundary changes into National Assembly for Wales election, 2007. See Talk:National Assembly for Wales election, 2007#Proposed merger —Joe Llywelyn Griffith Blakesley talk contrib 23:14, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Illuminating Technologies discography into Illuminating Technologies, since the former has little or context to justify a separate page. Eliz81 17:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Philippine mythical creatures into Philippine mythology as the former is simply a sub-set of the latter. -- • Kurt Guirnela • ‡ Talk 04:24, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Oxyrhynchus to Oxyrhynchus Papyri. The first article is really about the title of the second.-Andrew c 01:38, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Safecatch into Bank robbery, as safecatching is a manner of protecting against bank robbery. Eliz81 18:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

- Merge AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) into AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies, as they both contain the same information.
- Merge Minnesota North Stars with Dallas Stars as per below WalterWalrus3 22:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Montreal Expos into Washington Nationals, they are the same franchise, there is no need for 2 articles for the same franchise, it creates ambigity. WalterWalrus3 20:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Hatlestad Slide into Hurricane Maria (2005), as said hurricane was cause of mudslide, meaning that the article could be implemented into the article under Impact/Europe. --Safe-Keeper 03:34, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Money (Michael Jackson song), D.S. (song), Tabloid Junkie, Little Susie, 2 Bad, and This Time Around (Michael Jackson song) to HIStory because they are all non-notable album tracks per the general consensus of the guidelines laid out at WP:NSONGS and WikiProject Songs. I attempted to simply redirect these articles to their proper parent album's article, but was reverted twice in my efforts (see the semi-threatening note on my talk page on the subject), so I now open this up to the Wikipedia community. GassyGuy 03:39, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge John Hammond (Jurassic Park character) into List of characters in Jurassic Park#John Hammond. It has no links and does not contain enough information to warrant a separate article.
- Merge Eastern Roman Empire into Byzantine Empire. The two terms refer to the same entity. (The "Eastern Roman Empire" used to be a redirect to the Byz. Empire.) Cplakidas 09:03, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Zamboanga and Zamboanga (province) with Zamboanga Peninsula since the first is an unescessary disambiguation page while the second is a stub that fits in the history section of the latter.23prootie 21:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Surigao with Surigao City and Lanao with Lake Lanao, since the preceding articles are unescessary disambiguation pages.23prootie 21:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Albion (mythology) into Albion (Blake). They talk about the same character but the latter has more information. These two articles are redundant and compliment each other by talking about some different information concerning Albion, the mythical giant who founded Britain. It would help to have the article called Albion (mythology) converted to the opening section in Albion (Blake). June 12, 2007
- Merge Subtlety and Entremet. A bit ticklish because one user with ownership issues has repeatedly removed most of the content from Subtlety and attacked other editors on Talk:Subtlety and Talk:Entremet. Merge may not be the best solution, but needs outside input. See also Help talk:Merging and moving pages#Merge discussion request. — Athaenara ✉ 00:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Template:AZ to Template:Latin alphabet navbox. These two templates are nearly the same. (the latter template's name is more legible and that name is similar to Template:Cyrillic alphabet navbox.)--✉ Hello World! 06:54, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Debian_Almquist_shell and Almquist_shell. There is no substantial difference between the two and material that is actually DASH specific is spilling onto the ASH page anyway. Lod 17:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge "Deep in Earth" into Poems by Edgar Allan Poe - see the talk page for "Deep in Earth." It is two-lines of an incomplete poem with no significant extant information; it will never be more than a stub. -Midnightdreary 00:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Charles Crumb and Sophie Crumb into new article Crumb family. There have been some concerns about the notability of Charles Crumb. I suggest that this material be merged into a new article that would discuss the artist family Crumb, including some material about the best-known members Robert Crumb and Aline Kominsky-Crumb (who would retain their own articles), as well as lesser-known members such as Charles Crumb and Maxon Crumb. I think the Sophie Crumb article should be merged into the Crumb family article for the time being as well – she's definitely an emerging artist, however, she has yet to produce a body of work that justifies an article longer than stub-length. There is precedent in Wikipedia for doing family biographies, BTW – there are articles on the Dupont family and the Krupp family, for example. Peter G Werner 00:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Evangelical Catholic into Evangelicalism. To have two different articles implies that they are mutually exclusive, and any evangelical Catholics are, by definition, adherents of evangelicalism. Evangelicalism encompasses more than Protestant Christian denominations, and anyone interested in learning more about either should see them in the same article on the same evangelical topic. I've added proposed merger tags to both. Aepoutre 19:25, 8 June 2007 (EST)
May 2007
- Merge Bankruptcy in China and China bankruptcy law. Even if the act of being bankrupt in China is different than the Chinese law relating to bankruptcy, neither article is long enough and should be combined.Mbisanz 23:34, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge C-level to Corporate title. The content of the former almost totally overlaps that of the latter, and there seems no significant necessity to separate them. --supernorton 10:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Identity (philosophy) with Law of Identity. Gregbard 06:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge WWE Draft Lottery into WWE Brand Extension. The merge keeps happening although no consensus has been made. Two wikipedians feel that it should be merged and therefore merge it and I believe the matter should be discussed before actions are taken. Mushrambo 02:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Havasupai language into Havasupai. The language is a stub and either needs to be expanded (i dont know how that could be done) or merged with the umbrella page about the Havasupai Indians themselves. Josh Matthews 07:43, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Market adoption of Mozilla Firefox into Usage share of web browsers. Splintering off just Firefox from all the rest of web browsers is pointless and unnecessary. Simxp 21:35, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Peachey Carnehan into The Man Who Would Be King. The Peachey Carnehan article is exceedingly small to the point of being little more than a redirect/disambiguation page. --Superluser 17:09, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Sir William Arbuthnot, 2nd Baronet into Arbuthnot Baronets. Baronets are not notable in themselves and the notability of this baronet has not been proved. Mackensen (talk) 14:19, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Solitary tract with Solitary nucleus (Brain Anatomy). The second article deals with both the tract and its nucleus.--Biologos 16:12, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Donijio Inzaghi to Inzaghi Donígio. Possibly referring to the same person. --supernorton 11:31, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Lubang with Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, Sabtang with Sabtang, Batanes, Itbayat with Itbayat, Batanes, Coron with Coron, Palawan, Polillo with Polillo, Quezon, and Busuanga with Busuanga, Palawan, since the disambiguation pages are only about these municipalities or something related to them.23prootie 08:44, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Being Nobody with Ain't Nobody, since, while a mash-up and renamed, the main song is still Ain't Nobody, and the article should be treated the same way as the Freak Like Me article. Also the article on Being Nobody is quite short, and doesn't offer anything much more than what's on the Ain't Nobody page. Cazxiro 22:28, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge individual Smallville episodes to their respective pages. Discussion here. Discussion is about the merging of 40+ articles that are nothing but plots, and a proposed new format for the pages. Coming here because there isn't a lot of traffic on the Smallville pages, nor WP:TV, right now, and it would be good to have a lot of voices. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 16:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Teerayut Bunmee and Thirayuth Boonmi, two articles on the same person. --Soman 17:28, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

- Merge John Africa and Ramona Africa to MOVE. John & Ramona Africa have no notability oustide of the context of MOVE. Groupthink 15:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge New_York_University_Stern_School_of_Business into Stern_School_of_Business. Both articles are nearly identical and it looks like most of the content of New_York_University_Stern_School_of_Business has been copied from Stern_School_of_Business. Note that for some reason the rev history of New_York_University_Stern_School_of_Business is incomplete.Sr903 13:45, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Mendoza Line to Mario Mendoza. Mendoza Line by itself has no notability outside of Major League Baseball, so it should be a subsection of Mario Mendoza's bio. Groupthink 03:38, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Civil flag, section "United States Civil Flag" ? to United States Civil Flag. Merge the rest of Civil flag to flag. Groupthink 03:38, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

- Merge MDS America to MVDDS dispute. Now that the MDS International article has become a redirect to MVDDS dispute, I think it is only proper that this page be too. No secondary source I found about the company, and I have done an extensive review in the course of the MDSI debate and in writing MVDDS dispute, has mentioned the company outside the context of the Northlight Technology story. Moreover, all the sources indicated MDS America was the North American licensee of MDS International. Representatives of MDSA say the status has changed, and the contempt of court order does indicate the companies are no longer on friendly terms. However, I still haven't seen anything indicating that the hypercable technology is not sold outside the US by MDS International. nadav 19:30, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Chick Chick BOOM into Chick Chick Boom. Same game. The latter's title is grammatically correct; there is no evidence that "Boom" is written in all CAPS; furthermore, the former is not written formally, is overly lengthy, has a lot of trivia, and does not cite its sources. - Excretory system and Urinary system should be merged. Both articles refer to the same major organ system of the body. My suggestion is the Urinary system should be merged into the Excretory system, and all searches made about the urinary system be redirected to the new Excretory system page. - Atkinson index and Atkinson Index should be merged; one article is much more technical than the other. In my opinion, the less technical one seems more suitable for lay audiences. The more technical article seems to be more mathematically "correct" or rigorous, and the formula in the less technical article seems to have a typographic error; however, I lack the requisite qualification in mathematics to ensure that the merger is performed correctly. What I would like to accomplish is to keep the formulas in the more technical of the two articles and to expand the explanatory material of the less-technical article. 69.140.164.142 01:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

- Merge one sheet (film) back into movie poster. A one-sheet is a movie poster size/term, and this page is redundant and can be summarized as part of the main article with a single sentence. -Jca2112 01:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Federal grant into the Federal grants and awards section of Federal assistance in the United States. -Mtmelendez 13:05, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Merge WordPress MU into WordPress. The WordPress MU article is very short and the two packages are essentially the same. No reason to have two articles. 66.226.105.98 05:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

- Merge Energy Blue and Luna (theme) into a general article about theming provided by Microsoft for the theming system built into Microsoft Windows XP. Putting them into separate articles almost seems unnecessary when the Energy Blue also contains information about extra new themes Microsoft has created - Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 18:00, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

- Merge United Colonies of Vancouver Island and British Columbia into Colony of British Columbia - "British Columbia" was the name given to the united colony, and this period, described in a relatively short article, could be included as background context. Fishhead64 21:07, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

- Merge Scaffolding Theory into Instructional scaffolding - duplication of content Jschwa1 13:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Prorogation into Parliamentary session. You can't have one without the other, and together they would be one start-class article rather than two stub-class ones. --Arctic Gnome 18:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge William Winlock Miller High School and Olympia High School (Washington) because they are the same school. Either one would work as the page that got all the info, but Olympia High School would be better because that is the name everyone knows it as. WmCliff 23:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

- Merge stubs Meadowbank ferry wharf, Sydney and Rydalmere ferry wharf, Sydney into main Parramatta River ferry services, Sydney article. Each stub is in itself non-notable, and has little prospect for expansion. Joestella 15:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge stubs Balmain East ferry wharf, Sydney, Kirribilli ferry wharf, Sydney and McMahons Point ferry wharf, Sydney into main Inner Harbour ferry services, Sydney article. Each stub is in itself non-notable, and has little prospect for expansion. Joestella 15:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge 14 stubs (starting with Central MLR station, Sydney) covering stops on Sydney's Central-Lilyfield tram line into main Metro Light Rail network article. Each stub is in itself non-notable, and has little prospect for expansion. Joestella 12:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta with Knights Hospitaller - these two articles are about the same topic.
- Merge Freedom of speech (United States) into Freedom of speech in the United States. I'm not sure why we need two different articles. -- SilverStar★ 02:30, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Creolization into Creole language#Development of a creole language. The article needs some serious work, and as its really just a verbification (and the content is largely covered in the metioned section), I think it would be prudent to merge it. Gsnixon 12:50, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Brig into Brigantine. The fact that Brig and Brigantine are not synonymous does not justify a separate page for Brig if it is only a stub. Unless there is significant content that clearly delineates one type of ship from another, not just a slight modification of the masts and ship construction, then the articles belong together, not separately. Gohiking 19:18, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Nakatomi, Yamanashi and Shimobe, Yamanashi into Minobu, Yamanashi. Because in the Japanese site of Wikipedia, they merged both Shimobe (下部町) and Nakatomi(中富町) into Minobu (身延町) Example 1Example 2. BigBang19 10:00, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

- Merge Most Holy Place, Holy of Holies, and Kadosh Hakadashim into one or two articles. If two articles, one would general and cross-religion and one would be religion-specific. - Merge Begum Nawazish Ali with Ali Saleem; a lot of what is contained within the article Begum Nawazish Ali seems to apply to Ali Saleem, the performer who plays the character of Begum Nawazish Ali. Either this article should be merged into Ali Saleem, or the article should be re-written to focus more on the character of Begum Nawazish Ali. QazPlm 07:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Ancestor worship with Veneration of the dead; the latter is a broader term which encompasses things which are not specifically "worship" (something some religions have a problem with for non-deities). -- nae'blis 04:01, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

- Propose to merge Ain't it Funny (Murder Remix) into Ain't It Funny. The former article is about a specific version of song in the latter article. I do not think the information in each article is substantial enough to justify them being split up, furthermore people looking for information on the song might be confused by there being (at least) two articles about it. - hammered dulcimer and psaltery... in the first page's discussion there are propositions for merge with dulcimer or with cymbalum, that are completely different instruments... while "psaltery" is exactly the same thing (notice that in many languages they have the same name, and in English the choice between the words "psaltery" and "hammered dulcimer" usually depends only from the geographic location or from use - picking strings or hitting with small hammers). - Christian Science and Church of Christ, Scientist. These two articles have considerable overlap and should be either merged or reorganized into non-overlapping articles. Church of Christ, Scientist seems to be the better written and organized of the two. I'm happy (given time) to do the reorganization but would expect some push-back. Digitalican 05:30, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- David Copperfield (character) and David Copperfield (novel). David Copperfield (character) refers to the main character of David Copperfield (novel). As the main character is fictional and the book acts as a biography, any information that is relevant to the main character is relevant to the book. As the article stands now, it is simply a rehash of the plot that already exists in the novel article.
- Merge The Marketplace Mall, The Mall at Greece Ridge Center, Eastview Mall, and Midtown Plaza into Rochester Area Shopping Malls. User:Waluigi300 4 September 06
- Merge ISTAR into C4ISTAR, and merge the elements of Surveillance and Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition which describe a function into C4ISTAR. As a military function, these all mean the same or similar things. I propose discussion occur here at Talk:C4ISTAR. -- MCG 03 Sept 06
- Merge Kobolds in gaming and Kobold (Dungeons & Dragons) into Kobold. Do we really need 3 pages about Kobolds? One on the general case, one for D&D, and one for other games? I don't think I have the skill to do this myself, though (not to mention the Koboldic knowledge that I would need), so I'd appreciate any help. -- GumbyProf: "I'm about ideas, but I'm not always about good ideas." 03:40, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

- Merge Anglo-Saxon mission into Hiberno-Scottish mission; there is already a request for Schottenklöster into the same. — SomeHuman 2006-08-12 00:14 (UTC)
- Update - Schottenklöster has been merged. Merge tags put up on other two. xCentaur | ☎ 20:15, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think the consensus is to keep them separate, but this might need to be held open. The merge tags are no longer on the articles as of today, 7/6/07. Bearian 15:38, 6 July 2007 (UTC) Update: merge tags restored. — SomeHuman 07 Jul2007 16:36 (UTC)
Merger Proposals without consensus
- Merge John Prescott: Contentious events into John Prescott. Material was recently removed on the grounds of excessive article size (although even with the expunged material, the overall article length was around ~34 kb; cf, for example, Tony Blair, at ~>80 kb). Consensus was not established, and a recent AfD on John Prescott: Contentious events (where 'Merge and redirect' was not accepted as an option) provided significant support for a merge. The current situation poses significant POV problems for both articles. Badgerpatrol 00:10, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- The consensus appears to be to keep them both. Bearian 20:36, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Residual sum of squares, Sum of squares, and Total sum of squares into Least squares. You might consider combining them with Regression analysis, but RA can be performed with methods other than least squares. --DanielPenfield 00:46, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Framing (communication theory) and Framing (psychology) should probably be merged; there was already a corresponding proposal on the talk pages, but apparently no-one felt competent to carry it out. Loaded language should also be considered, as it appears to be pretty much the same thing. The discussion is at Talk:Framing (communication theory). Joriki 06:47, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Binion's Horseshoe and Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel. The same casino, just under different ownership. A section detailing the history and current status in one article should suffice. ⇔ EntChickie 04:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Thomas Lowell Tucker and Kristian Menchaca into one article. These were two US Army soldiers who were captured during an attack in Iraq and killed. TomTheHand 21:34, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Female suicide bomber into Suicide attack. There is nothing in the former that cannot be comprehensively covered in a general article Chancemill 11:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Shouldn't all the lawsuits on the Lowell page be on the San Francisco Unified School District page instead, since they're NAACP v. San Francisco Unified School District, Ho v. San Francisco Unified School District, and the Consent Decree applies to ALL schools in the San Francisco Unified School District, not just Lowell? --69.106.248.138 18:09, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Geosynchronous orbit and Geostationary orbit - Discussed and generally approved in 2004, but never implemented. --GW SimulationsTalk | Contribs | E-mail 14:39, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Personal opinion, since one is a subset of the other, they should be on the same page. However, no consensus yet. xCentaur | ☎ 19:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Condensed matter physics and Solid-state physics, this has been proposed for some time with no conclusion. This is about the article merge not the categories merge. Rex the first talk | contribs 23:56, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Voice organ and Phonation. I don't know which way to merge - the latter is the better article but the former is a more familiar term. -- Djbb2 19:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Having read Phonation, I think they should either be left seperate or phonation merged into voice organ, as the second includes the first. I'm no expert, though...Djbb2 19:37, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Westfield Bondi Junction,Westfield Burwood,Westfield Eastgardens,Westfield Hornsby,Westfield Hurstville,Westfield Miranda,Westfield Mount Druitt,Westfield Parramatta,Westfield Penrith, all into Westfields Shopping Centres in Australia. Individually these shopping centres are non-notable. Collectively they are an identifiable element of Retailing in Australia, and whilst they are notable within their own small community each could easily be a single section on a suburb/town page, and a similar single section on the proposed page Westfields Shopping Centres in Australia. Each current page contains very similiar lists of stores / outlets which are difficult to maintain as current. --Garrie 23:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- List already exists List_of_Westfield_Group_shopping_centres_in_Australia Is merger rqd? The pages are quite large, notable or not, and merging them together would make the resultant page huge.xCentaur | talk 12:18, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
