KTVA, channel 11, is a CBS affiliate in Anchorage, Alaska. The station is owned by the MediaNews Group newspaper chain.

KTVA is broadcast on over-the-air on analog channel 11 and digital channel 28, as well as on the local cable system, GCI.

History

KTVA is Alaska's first TV station, having signed on the air on December 11, 1953. The station was also a secondary ABC affiliate (which it shared with KTUU-TV) until KIMO debuted in 1967. The station was also a DuMont affiliate in the 1950s [1].
