Farah Khan who had earlier directed the film Main Hoon Na (2004) with was supposed to do Happy New Year but later scrapped that project to do this film.

The film's score and soundtrack are composed by the musical duo, Vishal-Shekhar with lyrics by renowned lyricist, Javed Akhtar. Composer A.R.Rahman opted out of this movie, as T-Series did not agree to share the copyrights of music with him and the lyricist.[1]

The film is said to be based on reincarnation. Shooting of the film began in January 2007 at various locations in India. Over 30 of the Bollywood's hottest stars are putting in a guest appearance for a special song in the film. [2] The film is slated for release on November 9, 2007.

The film is planning to release at 2,000 prints.[3]
