Thanks for creating this page- looks good. I've created a lot of the other NSW country ones, and the convention that I've used is that for lines that end at a terminal point, I've named them by the destination, such as Bombala railway line, New South Wales and Murwillumbah railway line, New South Wales etc, and for lines that connect two other lines, I've named acording to the points that they connect on the other lines, such as Molong- Dubbo railway line, New South Wales. Therefore I wonder on your thoughts of renaming this page to Corowa railway line, New South Wales. The Fulch 12:53, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Kevin Andrews

I'm sorry you feel I assumed bad intent; I did not. In fact, it upsets me that you think I would. I simply made a bad choice of word in "false", the pejorative connotations of which escaped me at quarter past one in the morning. To assure you, I was just editing the text as it was, without knowledge of whomever added it, and the reference provided did not support the text. Before I realised the reference was not correct, I actually redrafted the text in an attempt to include it, as as far Australian journalists go, Kelly is fairly noteworthy.

Irrespective of this issue, I do hope you agree that my edit was on-the-whole a good one, going a significant way, in my opinion, to redirect the article from an inappropriate direction.--cj | talk 00:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Mont St. Quentin

Hello, Golden Wattle. I was reading through the Lyall Howard article and just happened to notice that the red link Battle of Mont St. Quentin has just turned blue, and is now linking through to this whole new article that you created. It gives me a much greater understanding of the situation, where previously there was no information. Good work. Cheers, Lester2 00:54, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Thanks for starting the article - are you filling in the red links on the "day in Australia"? I was doing that for a while, but got distracted with something else... --Peta 01:44, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images on Commons

Hi - could you please name images slightly more specifically when you upload them on wikipedia and give them sharper categories where possible. Fore example Image:2007 0825klklk0019.JPG is I presume Manly (not just my own knowledge, also based on the use of the image on wikipedia and associated caption) - nobody would know from the file name, the category or the description you provided :-( --Golden Wattle talk 23:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I will try to do this in future. I do mean to categorise but I some times forget and I will have to rename the images before uploading again. I do provide a discription in the summary section though. Cheers_______Ad@m.J.W.C. 01:55, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bankstown bunker image

Hi, thanks for your help. I don't know much about tagging unless I take the images myself. I just need to find out why the tag has come out as a red link. I would fix it if I could. . Cheers_______Ad@m.J.W.C. 00:23, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wagga Wagga

Thanks for the recognition; it has made my day, especially since I started it a little down in the dumps. I don't know if my employer would be so pleased about the rapid response. :-) Cheers, Mattinbgn\ talk 03:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re. Rivers

OK, I acknowledge that. Hopefully those articles will be created then :) Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 07:01, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Nairn

Hi Golden Wattle. Noticed your referencing work on the Gary Nairn article. Most, if not all, of the last three para of the article seem to be to be quite tangential to the subject. Wikipedia policy at WP:NOT#NEWS looks to be be relevant here and I think those paras should probably go before the article becomes a magnet for party hacks (if it hasn't already). What do you think? Gimboid13 08:16, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice. I certainly don't disagree that Gary Nairn is notable enough himself but I'm still a bit concerned that some of the contents of the article looks like attempts at point scoring. Gimboid13 19:57, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jason Clare

Hi, GW. I tend to be a little inflexible about candidate's articles as they nearly always seem to be a forum for POV pushers. Having said that, this one doesn't look too bad (and you are definitely not a POV pusher! :-)) and the references you added has improved it a lot. It almost meets the general notability guideline in WP:N, in which case not meeting WP:BIO would then become moot. If another independent source asserting notability can be found similar to The Australian Higher Ed article I would be happy to change my !vote to weak keep on that basis. On a general note, I can see articles on election candidates becoming more and more of an issue as the election gets closer and some consensus on what is acceptable may be useful. Cheers, Mattinbgn\ talk 01:14, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing me towards those discussions. Your edit here is almost word for word my opinion as well. I don't think we disagree on the general principle but only on the specific notability of Mr. Clare. I still think his notability beyond mere candidature is marginal but I am willing to be convinced otherwise. Mattinbgn\ talk 02:06, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As you may see, I too have become convinced by your hard work on this article in adding citations to demonstrate notability, and have changed my opinion to Keep. Thank you, sincerely, for putting so much into the discussion and keeping it respectful and focused on improving the article. My respect for Australian stick-to-it-ive-ness, already large, has gone up a notch, and I've learned once again that every principle merits the occasional exception. Cheers! A favour, please

Hi GW. Can you please have a look at this - Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Users repeatedly removing db-copyvio tag - and let me know if you think I was out of line. I don't think I have done anything to justify any of this. Thanks, Mattinbgn\ talk 23:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking a look. I am still not sure how I wandered into all of that! -- Mattinbgn\ talk 00:12, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Stein

Please quit adding non-notable actor David Stein to articles all over Wikipedia. His page has been deleted under the WP:BIO guidelines. Corvus cornix 21:03, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template?

That wasn't a template. And repeatedly adding the name of a person whose article has been deleted via AfD is disruptive. Corvus cornix 01:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Stein

I won't edit war if you want to put it back, but it's just his repeated vandalism, not only reverting to old versions which don't have the Helen Hughes disambiguation and adding himself with links to the David Stein disambiguation page, not even a redlink for a new article about himself. And his repeated vandalism to add himself to the school article and the repeated incivility on the Talk pages. Corvus cornix 21:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And all of this for a direct-to-video film that isn't even related to any of the other films in the corpus. Corvus cornix 21:40, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll try to rein in my antipathy.  :) Corvus cornix 21:48, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
