Fred Alton Carr (born August 19, 1946, Phoenix, Arizona, USA) is a former American football player who played linebacker for the Green Bay Packers from 1968-77.

Fred "Freddy" Carr attended Phoenix Union High School where he was a star athlete competing in basketball, and representing P.U.H.S. as a discus thrower and in the shot put. Fred was in the top ten discus throwers in the USA in his senior year. He played for University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) after playing on the Phoenix College Junior College team prior to transferring to UTEP. Fred was inducted into the UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame, September 23, 2005 after he was inducted Phoenix College (PCAA) Hall of Fame in 2002.[citation needed]
