Ghost Opera is the eighth studio album from the power metal band Kamelot. It was released by SPV/Steamhammer Records, on June 1st in Germany and followed by releases on June 4th in Europe and June 5th in the United States.

The album was recorded and mixed at Gate Studios and Pathway Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro.

Prior to the release of the album, SPV Records distributed a strictly limited single CD of "Ghost Opera", handed out to fans attending the European Tour in March, April and May 2007.

Ghost Opera is Kamelot's third release via SPV/Steamhammer Records.

The first video from the album, the title track "Ghost Opera", debuted on Kamelot's official MySpace site on April 20th, 2007, but was removed at the record company's request soon after. It returned later and the video can now be viewed on various sites, including their own, and on the DVD included with the limited edition of the Ghost Opera album. The song tells the story of a budding Opera Singer who is attacked and raped on her way to the debut night. The lyrics express the Opera Singer reminiscing about her ordeal, and wondering what it would have been like if she had performed.

A video has also been made for the song "The Human Stain", and can be viewed on Youtube.
