Indiana Evans (born July 27, 1990) is an Australian actress perhaps best known for her role as Matilda Hunter on popular Australian soap opera Home and Away.

Biography

Early life

Indiana has had an interest in performing since the age of five, when she would perform for family and friends. At the age of seven, Indiana's parents enrolled her into dance lessons which started with Ballet and then evolved to Jazz and Tap. At age 10 had an interest in musical instruments and took up percussion lessons and then joined an agency. She started modeling the first year and attended castings for TV commercials.[citation needed] In 2001, she got her first role running in an Asguard commercial. With her first pay cheque from the commercial, she bought her own drum kit.[citation needed] Before working on Home and Away, Indiana Evans had started high school at Newtown School for Performing Arts, but had to discontinue it after only two weeks to focus on her acting career.[citation needed] She then took up correspondence course to finish her school.[citation needed]

Career

In 2003, Evans got a guest role as Milly Roberts in an episode of All Saints. She then landed the principal role in an American campaign for Kool Aid.[citation needed] She also appeared in the Australian comedy sketch show Comedy Inc. The same year, she also got the role of Abbie Oakly on the television series, Snobs. Apparently, she learned horse riding and surfing for this role.[citation needed]

In 2004, Evans also appeared on Girl TV, a daily TV magazine show.[citation needed]

Home & Away

In 2004, when her part in Snobs was coming to an end, Evans was asked to audition for the role of Matilda Hunter in the series Home and Away. She was nominated for the 2005 Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent – Female for playing the role. She currently plays the part of Ric Dalby's girlfriend.

Personal life

Indiana Evans dated her co-star, Rhys Wakefield, who plays the role of Lucas Holden. The couple officially announced their break up in late 2006.

Indiana is rumoured to be dating new co-star Lincoln Lewis, son of rugby league legend Wally Lewis, who plays the role of Geoff Campbell. This rumour has been publicly denied by Lincoln in an interview with TV Week. No statements to the contrary have come from anyone connected to the pair.
