The midfielder impressed the Forest management team during the 2006-07 season with some excellent performances for the reserves [citation needed]. He was rewarded by Forest manager Colin Calderwood's placing him on the first-team bench a couple of times towards the end of the campaign. Power made his first full start against Peterborough United in the Football League Trophy on 4th September 2007.

He has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth international level and was called into the Irish Under 21 squad in October 2007.

Power signed for Grays Athletic on three month loan deal on 22 November 2007. [1]
