A hummingbird is a small bird capable of hovering in mid air due to the rapid flapping of its wings. They are named for the characteristic hum of this rapid wing motion and are attracted to many flowering plants such as shrimp plants.

There are several different species of Hummingbird, some of which follow:

  • The Black-chinned Hummingbird Latin: Archilochus alexandri
  • The Broad-billed Hummingbird Latin: Cynanthus latirostris
  • The Lucifer Hummingbird Latin: Calothorax lucifer
