In Greek mythology, Alope was a mortal woman, daughter of Cercyon. Poseidon had sex with Alope, his grandaughter through Cercyon, begetting Hippothoon. Cercyon had his daughter buried alive but Poseidon turned her into the spring, Alope, near Eleusis.
