Hello

Hi, welcome. It looks like you inadvertently added content to Template:NewYork-politician-stub. That's just a template; anything you add to it will be added to every article that uses that template, which you probably didn't mean to do. Try going to Lynn Nunes and making your edits there. You may also want to have a look at Wikipedia:Your first article. Once again, welcome, and have fun. --Bongwarrior (talk) 07:37, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Lynn Nunes

A tag has been placed on Lynn Nunes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • Please don't repeatedly recreate this article when it has been deleted. It's been deleted for a reason. The reason is one of notability and your rewrites are not addressing that. Please read WP:BIO#Politicians to see what is required for inclusion in Wikipedia. --WebHamster 09:41, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help me request

{{helpme}}

Hi there! You placed the {{helpme}} template on your page. What do you need help with? Feel free to post your question either here or on my talk page. Best regards! --omtay38 03:23, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the article you are referencing is Lynn Nunes. This article has been deleted multiple times because it was the biography of a non-notable person. That is to say, the article was not considered suitable for inclusion in an enclyclopedia. For more information on biographical notability, you may want to read the policy on the subject. If you read over the policy and think your subject satisfies those conditions, leave me another message and we can work on getting the page title unblocked.
More importantly than any of that, don't let this deletion dishearten you! Many great wikipedia editors started by having their first articles and edits deleted or reverted. Wikipedia has a policy to just do things and BE BOLD! Stick around here for a while, try some things out, and in time I think you'll find it's a great place to be. Hope this has helped! Happy editing! --omtay38 03:36, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Stubs may be shorter than articles, but still must assert the notability of their subject. Thomas White, Jr. is actually a good example. Although the article is short, it clearly states that "Thomas White, Jr. is a member of the New York City Council from Queens." This makes him notable. Granted, there are various opinions on notability. May I ask, what is the subject of the article you wish to create? --omtay38 03:45, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well then, I guess that is notable. My suggestion would be to make a draft of the page exactly as you would want it to appear in a sub page of your user space (perhaps at User:2faction8/Lynn Nunes). Then, let me know and I'll let an admin know and we'll see if we can't get the article created. I'm probably heading out for the night, but leave me a message when you finish and I'll take a look at it when I'm back. Best regards! --omtay38 04:46, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
