How many of you remember coming downtown during the holidays (during the 60's & 70's)to exprience the window displays during christmasat the Emporium. I experienced the caverns of Emporiums wonderful exhibits before the earthquake retrofitting. Does anyone remember the 4th floor toy exhibits that got you ready for the 5th floor ice skating show and santa awaiting your visit? And of course, the wonderful "Roof Rides". Each year was differant but I think that the best years were '72 - '74. That's when everything was all about shopping and letting your kids have a good time. I would love to hear some experiences cause I have alot. Remember when the year when they had the big slide? Then the year after they had the bumper cars. I would love to share some experiences expecially because I am still living at a house that used to be able to see the rides every year until the built the Crocker building. My children are grown now but they only share my and my 8 brothers and sisters experiences through lore. I would love to see some pics if you have them but most importantly lets share the great experience the Emporium Roof rides gave us. Hope to hear from you.
