Wikipedia:Proposed article mergers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by B.Wind (talk | contribs) at 06:22, 25 February 2008 (January 2008: removed struck/done listings). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This page is an incomplete list of proposed mergers. Anyone may list any article merger proposal here. This is optional, and it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here. See Category:Merge by month for all pages needing to be merged.

Guidelines

In general, this page should be used primarily to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers (particularly those of a controversial nature), or assistance with difficult or complicated mergers. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below.

Current listings

Please list new proposals at the top of this month's section. Sign each listing or comment by typing: ~~~~

NB such a merger has been discussed several times, with no consensus to merge attained. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 02:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • merge Paraceratherium and Indricotherium. In french the corresponding articles are already merged. Here the difficulty is that both articles in english complete each other. The reason for the proposed merge is that : larger more robust Indricotherium with larger incisors being probably the male, and the more gracile Paraceratherium the female. It make no sense to have to articles describing a single specie. It need just a reference that historically they seemed to be different species. 6 January 2008

* merge mileage runs into FlyerTalk, duplicate dictionary-like information as mileage runs are almost exclusively associated with FlyerTalk Travellingcari (talk) 06:19, 28 December 2007 (UTC) Has been discussed and merger proposal removed Travellingcari (talk) 21:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note, the merge of content was done from the last "good" page - looks like it just needs an edit history merge. SkierRMH (talk) 02:45, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alice.S was recently blocked for creating an attack page against me. She apparently has not learned from her lesson as she followed me to this page to try to have it deleted. She is not a party to the discussion. Jose João (talk) 22:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons for merger:
  1. This page should have been moved when the call sign of the radio station changed to KBWF.
  2. All pertinent information from article has already been incorporated into the KBWF article.
  3. Talk page is the only thing that really needs to be merged, but I have no idea how to go about it.
There are two other articles about previous incarnations of this frequency (KZQZ and KKHI), and I will deal with those separately. I will suggest KZQZ be deleted, but KKHI should stay, since it does have a pretty deep history, and can exist as an article of a defunct station.--Fightingirish 19:14, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Just burry the "Hörspiel"-article. Theses like "..., but the musical component in German broadcasts is typically more substantial" are nonsense (in the 50'ies there was no music at all in German radio dramas) and non of the important German authors like Ingeborg Bachmann or Günter Eich are mentioned. --Kolja21 (talk) 18:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Multi-part proposed merger of Stove related articles because of similar subject matter:
  1. The proposed merger of the culinary parts of Stove with Cook stove
  2. The proposed merger Cooker with Cook stove - Jerem43 08:14, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - Actually it's more complicated than that. Both unions are legally registered labor unions, so they are both legitimate. There was an edit conflict between two newish WP:COI editors, and it appears to be resolved with the untangling of the previously intermixed information.--Bookandcoffee 08:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Edit wars are continuing with these. I don't think this issue is resolved, and still believe the best way to resolve it is with a merger. Torc2 19:35, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposals without consensus

Comment This appears to be a one-person crusade that has been opposed in each of the above cases by consensus. Suggest closing this collection. Of the listed characters, only James Heller would be considered "minor" in the series.B.Wind (talk) 04:54, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion closed with no consensus to merge. The disagreement rages on. B.Wind (talk) 06:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The consensus appears to be to keep them both. Bearian 20:36, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having read Phonation, I think they should either be left seperate or phonation merged into voice organ, as the second includes the first. I'm no expert, though...Djbb2 19:37, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
List already exists List_of_Westfield_Group_shopping_centres_in_Australia Is merger rqd? The pages are quite large, notable or not, and merging them together would make the resultant page huge.xCentaur |  talk  12:18, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
