The statement:

John Wesley taught that holiness, or Christian perfection, was a definite and instantaneous second work of grace received by faith, and followed by gradual sanctification.

seems to be somewhat controversial; it certainly surprized me. I reference the following link:

Where is the "followed by gradual sanctification" documented in Wesley's writings?
