Update on 29 Jul 2005 by User:Markl222

Somehow, a link to this VFD got posted on COSForums.com (official MuggleNet forums), so that's why the votes are so one-sided. Something should be done about this. Note the number of anonymous voters and the people who registered just to "save" a worthless article from deletion. This is pathetic.

comment, not a vote It still has won the vote though. You must accept that. And it has changed greatly for the better. Your bias is greatly unfair. Please accept the vote result. - Jamandell (d69)

A popular site among Harry Potter fans, but not notable enough to merit an article. Contains little content besides the JKR quote and award. Plus, other sites (most notably Harry Potter Lexicon) have also received awards directly from JKR, but do not have their own articles. (The HP-Lexicon link redirects to Harry Potter.)

On June 8, 2005, I put the MuggleNet article up on Votes for Deletion. It received three votes of Keep, due to the article's potential for expansion. Now, as of July 17, 2005, the article has seen no expansion whatsoever; and, as a result, I have relisted the article up on Votes for Deletion.

An alternative to deleting the article entirely is redirecting to Harry Potter Fandom #Unofficial_sites, and moving the information about Mugglenet to that section (as I have already done)

  • Redirect per Markl222. The Alexa ranking is reasonably high (around 2800) and there are a ton of Google hits, but if there's been no enhancement in over a month, I don't see the point of splitting this small amount of information into it's own article. Ken 21:50, July 17, 2005 (UTC)
  • Redirect as it is now... no need to delete. You've already done a great job merging =). Sasquatch′TalkContributions 23:32, July 17, 2005 (UTC)
  • Redir per Markl222. I think the website should have an article, but if no one seems inclined to write one... *shrug* Marblespire 04:19, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • Note: I have gone through and done all the IP annotations. What the heck is "D69" anyway? ~Mbsp
  • Redirect per above. Alexa is not an automatic keep/delete criteria. Here, it says more about the popularity of Harry Potter than the encyclopedic relevance of one of its many fan fora. If it's mentioned/linked in HP articles, as it has been, that's enough. Dcarrano 17:32, July 20, 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep. Someone said the content here has already been added to another article. Where? I followed the links and did not see anything except a cursory reference to mugglenet. Right now it seems to be much bigger than it was a month ago.Sandpiper 23:48, 25 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - As harry potter fandom is one of the biggest in the world and mugglenet is the most popular fansite within it, Mugglenet should be kept but definitely expanded. It has a rich history in the fandom and it's inclusion in this article would greatly expand it

  • Keep - I feel there is borderline notability here. - Mark 15:49, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep Mugglenet - it is an important Harry Potter site. It recieves tens of thousands of hits a day and is certainly meritous of an article. With a little expansion, this article could be a thing of beauty. 205.188.116.131 07:21, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Keep As far as I am aware, MuggleNet is THE most poular Harry Potter fansite in the world, and it deserves it's own article, MuggleNet is more of an institution! I would be willing to add more to the article if it wasn't deleted. - Jamandell (d69)

KEEP- Mugglenet is a very important site to the Harry Potter community and deserves teh honor of having an entry on this website. I don't know what I'd do without mugglenet providing me with Harry Potter information. Just look at the interview that the creater had recently with JKR, it is fantastic! -Kaitlyn

  • Keep MuggleNet IS the largest Harry Potter fan site online, and if kept I'd too be willing to make its entry grow. - Andrew

KEEP-What I've noticed, is that I am as much of a mugglenet fan as a harry potter fan. MuggleNet has not only become a part of the Harry potter culture, but is a culture in its self. The Mugglenet E culture. It deserves an article

KEEP I agree the article is lame as it stands, but like others who have already voted, I'd be willing to help make the proper improvements to properly convey Mugglenet's history and current cult following. It does indeed deserve to keep its own article. ~Kira Mae (d69)

KEEP! MuggleNet is one of the, if not the, most popular Harry Potter fansite in the world. I agree that this article needs expansion, but if it's not deleted I'd be glad to expand it! MuggleNet isn't just "any" fansite, it's got everything you need to know about Harry Potter on it, and it deserves its own article! --AWesoME (d69)

  • Keep Mugglenet appeals to Harry Potter fans of all ages, and provides a home where readers can meet people from all over the world to discuss their favorite literary character. The site deserves to retain its place in the Wikipedia universe. I'd be glad to help expand the article. -Jessie (d69)

Keep- All you need to do is look at the site to know it deserves its own article, even though the article needs work, mugglenet is worthy of the time- Emma D69
