Early life
Cannon was born in San Diego, California to James Cannon and Beth Hackett. He attended Avocado Elementary School in Spring Valley California, Quail Hollow Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina and Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, California. He began performing at the age of eight, and later formed the rap duo "Da Bomb Squad" with his best friend. Together they opened for the likes of Will Smith, LFO, 98 Degrees, and Montell Jordan. When Cannon was sixteen, he moved to Hollywood, where he performed at such comedy clubs as The Improv, The Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store.
Career
In 1998, Cannon scored his first television debut on Nickelodeon's All That. Nick then went on to star in several feature films, "Cyrana de Bergerac" and "Whatever It Takes", Men In Black II, and his first starring role in Drumline.
Nick Cannon went back to television, and created "The Nick Cannon Show", a spin-off to All That, and starred in Love Don't Cost A Thing.
Wild 'N Out returned for its third season on August 10, 2006 and ended October 5 of that year. A new sketch comedy show created by Cannon, called Short Circuitz debuted on April 5, 2007.
He made a cameo appearance in 50 Cent's video Disco Inferno.
Personal life
Nick Cannon had dated Grammy nominated singer and actress Christina Milian. She has stated in an interview with Blender magazine that she discovered his infidelity from checking his Sidekick. Christina claims that they are still friends. In an interview for Sister 2 Sister magazine Nick discussed the relationship and reasons for the breakup. Cannon has also briefly dated Kim Kardashian, in 2006. [1]
On February 22, 2007, reports falsely speculated that Cannon had married Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, after the couple had been dating for only three weeks. Six weeks later, on May 7, 2007, Cannon did propose to Ebanks via the Times Square jumbotron[2] and she accepted. On October 4 of the same year, People magazine announced that the couple called off their engagement. [3]
In January, 2008, he participated in a video for Barack Obama produced by Will.I.Am called Yes We Can.
