Tim Gartrell's analysis of the 2007 political situation - Adam Carr's analysis of 2007 pre-election and post-election (good reads) 2007 Australian federal election - Next Australian federal election - Newspoll: Rudd 73%, Nelson 7%. It (9% on the previous poll) is lower than the figure that effectively ended the prime ministerial hopes of Labor Opposition Leader Simon Crean, who sank to 14% before he was replaced by Mark Latham. Even Beazley had a relatively respectable 18% when he was toppled by Kevin Rudd. When it comes to the alternatives, Costello won't return despite what some think, and Turnbull is a man too left of what the modern Liberal Party is. And all this nonsense about expecting polling to be as it is, Labor/Beazley didn't suffer the same fate after the '96 loss. It's more than that though... this says it all, from John Hewson, former Liberal leader. 2006 South Australian state election - Next South Australian state election - The Government is doing well... the Government has made few mistakes... It is two years this month to the next election. According to The Advertiser poll, the Government is soundly positioned to win a third term in office. Did you know? The Division of Newcastle is the only division created at federation to be held continuously by one party. A PASTOR aligned to Zimbabwe president Mugabe’s political party has accused opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, of a “long-distance homosexual relationship” not only with former British PM, Tony Blair, but also with his successor, Gordon Brown. Destiny of Africa Network founder, Reverend Obadiah Msindo, said Zimbabweans must not vote for Tsvangirai because he is homosexual. Msindo himself is reportedly facing five counts of raping his maid. “Tsvangirai is a sexual partner to Blair and Brown. They occasionally summon him to London to make love to him,” Msindo told scores of Zanu-PF supporters. Observers said many of the crowd left, but Msindo persisted, charging in a local language: “Tsvangirai is Blair and Brown’s girlfriend. How often does he frequent Great Britain to be spoilt by Blair and Brown? Tsvangirai flies to London every now and then to offer himself to Brown and Blair and other homosexuals within the British Labour government.” President Mugabe has labelled the British Labour government as “gay gangsters”, citing its perceived tolerance of homosexuality.[1]

A picture tells a thousand words. Need to find free Public Domain or Creative Commons images? These are the places I search most:
- USASearch and DoDmedia, US image repositories, usually under the license of {{PD-USGov}} or {{PD-USGov-Military}}
- Picture Australia - repository of many Australian image sites under various free or non-free licenses, depending on the source. Images older than 50 years are usually free under the license of {{PD-Australia}}
- Flickr.com Advanced Photo Search (tick the bottom three creative commons boxes when searching) (flickr users are often willing to change licenses if you message them) usually under the license of {{cc-by-2.0}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}}
I've almost free images of all current members of the Cabinet of Australia bar four. Please help!
If you know of or have any images of any Australian MP which is yours, in the Public Domain or licensed under Creative Commons, please upload it to Wikipedia! This is especially true for politicians and their parties, because if you don't give us a free photo, sooner or later we'll have one! The selection of free images that follows are what I consider my best individual image contributions that I have found or created, and uploaded:
