Romy and Michele: In the Beginning is a 2005 TV film starring Katherine Heigl and Alex Breckenridge with an appearance by Paula Abdul. This movie is a prequel to the 1997 feature Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and was critically panned and received low viewership. It was written and directed by Robin Schiff.
There are no plans to release this movie on DVD.
Plot
In this prequel to Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, it shows Romy and Michele in 1987, 3 years from their high school graduation as they take on L.A.
For years Romy and Michele have been dreaming to go to L.A. and become rich and fabulous, but because they had no money, they decided to wait and save their money. 3 years have passed by and they've only managed to save $68, having $60 to begin with in high school. One night, after seeing Pretty Woman, they are inspired and decide to go to L.A., just like Vivian. Despite their lack of money.
