Four conical golden hats dating to the Bronze Age have been found in Central Europe: one find in 1835 near Schifferstadt, one fragmentary find in 1844 near Avaton, one at Ezelsdorf near Nurnberg in 1935, and one find of unknown origin, probably from Switzerland or southern Germany, bought in 1996 by the National Museum of Berlin.
