{{helpme}} Why does Wikipedia want to delete articles, if Wikipedia wants to expand itself?

Because some articles are vandalism, or are lies, or only serve to disparage their subject. Also, some are about subjects which are not notable enough, as we have limited disk space, so while we do look for more information, we can't accept information on just anything, because we don't have enough disk space to hold it all. Therefore, we limit to the more notable topics first, then we will likely look for more information when our server capacity allows it. But don't worry, we arn't gonna run out of disk space soon :) Stwalkerstertalk ] 11:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}What is a 'Portal'?

Hi! From Wikipedia:Portal: The idea of a portal is to help readers and/or editors navigate their way through Wikipedia topic areas through pages similar to the Main Page. In essence, portals are useful entry-points to Wikipedia content. I hope this helps, Stwalkerstertalk ] 23:35, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create hoaxes, such as you did in the article Toronto Pearson International Airport. Cease and desist from introducing misinformation into Wikipedia if you are attempting to test our ability to detect and remove it. This has been done before, with universally negative results. Hoaxes are marked for deletion shortly after they are created. Kindly — do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method is to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia, and then to check to see how long they have been in place and, if possible, correct them. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia policy to learn more about this project and how you can make a positive impact. Thanks, Air GTA is a non-existent airline company. A tag has been placed on AHM (magazine), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewHowse (talk) 14:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AHM (magazine)

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article AHM (magazine), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of AHM (magazine)

An editor has nominated AHM (magazine), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AHM (magazine) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:00, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, You left me a messages saying AHM is a real magazine. We need to be able to verify that, please. Where can we do that? --AndrewHowse (talk) 00:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of Canadian magazines just contains an assertion, added by an anonymous editor. Please read Wikipedia's verification policy and definition of reliable sources. If you add material to Wikipedia that cannot be verified consistent with the policy, then it will eventually be removed.
Also, if you're going to leave messages on talk pages then please follow the conventions; add new material at the bottom. Thanks. --AndrewHowse (talk) 16:43, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Repost of AHM (magazine)

A tag has been placed on AHM (magazine), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how AHM (magazine) is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:AHM (magazine) saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Speedy deletion of Planet Mercury Magazine

A tag has been placed on Planet Mercury Magazine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. // Chris (complaints)(contribs) 20:01, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
