This article is about the unit of pressure. For other uses see Pascal (disambiguation)

Pascal is the unit of pressure in the International System of Units.

It is equivalent to one newton per square meter.
The unit is named after Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician and physicist.

Abbreviation: Pa

Since 1 Pa is a small pressure, hPa (hectopascals) are more widely used, especially in meteorology.
