Wikipedia:Find or fix a stub
Wikipedia:Index > Find or fix a stub
A stub on Wikipedia is a very short article, generally of one paragraph or less. Most stub articles fail to cover all but the most trivial subject completely.
The software can automatically mark short entries if you set the Threshold for stub display higher than 0. This makes it easy to find or fix (convert into a complete article, adding content) a stub. See Special:Preferences to set your threshold, or Preferences for more help on this and other settings.
Another efficient way to locate stubs is to click on the What links here button on this page. Doing so will provide you a list of all articles in Wikipedia currently marked with the stub boilerplate text.

Stub alert!
If you create a stub, add this boilerplate text to encourage other users to destubify the article:
{{asbox | image = | pix = | subject = | article = article | qualifier = | category = Stubs | tempsort = no | lowercase = y | name = Template:Stub }}
The easy way to do this is to use the short-cut:
- {{msg:stub}}
- see Wikipedia:MediaWiki_custom_messages for more information.
