New York State Route 330 was a thoroughfare in Tompkins County. The road began at local roads in the hamlet of Guide Board Corners and ended at New York State Route 79 in the hamlet of Besemer. Route 330 was assigned in the mid-1930s and was replaced by Tompkins County Route 115 in January 1980. Route 330 was 5.0 miles (8.0 km) long.
Route description
Route 330 began at Old 76 Road and County Route 115 in Guide Board Corners, a hamlet of Brooktondale. The road went northward, turning at a county road in West Slaterville. Route 330 then headed westward, parallelling New York State Route 79. After the intersection with White Church Road, Route 330 entered Brooktondale. Still parallelling Route 79, Route 330 turned to the north and terminated there.[1]
History
Route 330 was assigned in the mid-1930s to the routing from Guide Board Corners to Besemer.[2] However, Route 330 was not state-maintained and was assigned Tompkins County Route 115 as well. The route was mantained under Tompkins County for the rest of its existance. Due to this, Route 330 did not appear in the state highway law as Route 330.[citation needed] Route 330 was decommissioned on January 24, 1980 as part of a maintainance swap between the State of New York and Tioga and Tompkins Counties.[3][4] However, no new designation was given to it as county route designations already existed, Tompkins 115.[5]
