Dean Turner (born 1972-01-06) is an Australian rock musician, most known for being the bass player in Australian rock band Magic Dirt.
He grew up in Geelong, Breamlea and Torquay with his family - parents and two brothers.
He began playing the bass guitar in 1990.
In 1991 he formed Deer Bubbles with then partner Adalita Srsen. However the band didn't go very well and by 1992, the pair, along with guitarist Daniel Herring, started a new band, briefly known as The Jim Jims. With the addition of drummer Adam Robertson, they became known as Magic Dirt.
Turner has also produced recordings for a number of Australian bands, such as theredsunband and, most recently, Sons Of The Sun and Violent Soho.
Turner became a father in 2005, with the birth of his daughter Charlie.

- Dean's favourite song to play is 'Babycakes You Always Freeze Me Up' from the album 'Young and Full Of The Devil'.
- He and Adalita Srsen, the vocalist for Magic Dirt were dating as the band was finding its feet; however the broke up soon after. They have remained good friends.
- Dean says one of the hardest times in his musical career was when former guitarist Daniel Herring said he wanted to leave the band, as he was one of his close friends.
- Dean plays his basses left-handed, and uses Rickenbacker and Fender basses, amplified by Ampeg.
- Has a daughter named Charlie
