The National University of Singapore School of Computing is a faculty within the National University of Singapore (NUS). The School of Computing was established in 1998, but its history spans 33 years – when it was the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS) in the Faculty of Science, and before that, as the Department of Computer Science in the Singapore University-Nanyang University Joint Campus days.Its current dean is Professor Ooi Beng Chin.[1]
History
Historically, the School of Computing was formerly the Department of Computer Science in the Singapore University-Nanyang University Joint Campus days. It then became the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS). The current School of Computing was established in 1998.
Present
NUS School of Computing (SoC) has a fine track record in grooming leaders for the digital economy. Since its early days as the only university department in Singapore that produced computing talent for the workforce, the School has blazed a trail of distinguished alumni, including the chief executives and technology architects of multinationals and government agencies.[2]

Master of Computing (by coursework)
The Master of Computing programme is a comprehensive and challenging graduate programme with area specialisations. It encompasses latest research findings, both applied and fundamental. The programme also provides advanced and in-depth knowledge of IT to prepare the students for challenges in IT career. The programme may be taken full-time or part-time. Most level 5000 and 6000 modules are conducted in the evenings.[3]
