Lucas Stephen Grabeel (Template:PronEng "GRAY-beel";[1] born November 23, 1984) is an American actor and singer songwriter. He is perhaps best known for his role as Ryan Evans in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical and its sequel High School Musical 2 and as Ethan Dalloway in the third and fourth installments of the Halloweentown franchise, Halloweentown High and Return to Halloweentown.
Biography
Lucas Stephen Grabeel graduated from Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri in 2004 and then moved to Los Angeles to become an actor. Several months after the move, he landed his first Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown High.Also he has been in the 2007 movie "Alice Upside Down" playing Lester McKinley. His debut performance was in the blockbuster made- for television Disney movie, High School Musical as Ryan Evans, in which he sang two duet songs with Ashley Tisdale -- "What I've Been Looking For" and "Bop to the Top". He also sang with Andrew Seeley, Vanessa Hudgens, Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale in "I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" which was not in the movie, but was an extra track on the soundtrack. Lucas is a tenor.
Grabeel has made TV guest appearances on TV series such as Boston Legal, Smallville, Til Death, and Veronica Mars. He also participated in the first ever Disney Channel Games on the green team along with Ashley Tisdale, Mitchel Musso, Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment and Kyle Massey. Lucas also reprised his role as Ethan Dalloway in the fourth Halloweentown movie, "Return to Halloweentown". On Thanksgiving Day 2006, he was featured on a High School Musical float alongside co-stars Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, and Monique Coleman singing the number "We're All in This Together", both Lucas and Corbin splitting half of Zac Efron's (Troy) lines from the song. Lucas Grabeel also sang the same song, at the 2006 Miss Teen USA pageant, singing the chorus by himself while the contestants introduced themselves.
</gallery>Lucas recently filmed the movie Alice, as the character of Lester McKinley, which is an independent film based on the "Alice" book series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It is expected to release in selected theaters in spring 2008. He also recorded the voice of a dog in the upcoming animated film, At Jesus' Side. In January 2007, he finished touring on the High School Musical: The Concert. Lucas also recorded "You Know I Will" for The Fox and the Hound 2. On April 13, 2007, Lucas finished production on High School Musical 2, in which he returned as Ryan Evans. This premiered on the Disney Channel on August 17, 2007. He had duets with Tisdale as in the original movie, but also had a "show stopper" song with Corbin Bleu (as Chad) in "I Don't Dance." Lucas also recorded "Go The Distance" for the CD Disneymania 5. He will also be starring as Ezra in The Adventures of Food Boy. He will appear in the movie Milk, a biopic about the slain, gay, San Francisco-born activist and politician. Lucas is playing a friend and supporter of Harvey, Danny Nicoletta, who worked at a camera store Harvey owned.
Lucas released a single named "You Got It" and surfaced the net. The song was also used in a scene in High School Musical 2, when Sharpay and Ryan are entering the country club. You Got It was released to iTunes in September 2007. The music video of the said song, made by Grabeel and his friends Mike and Marc, was also released Halloween 2007 to iTunes. He and Corbin Bleu are the only two High School Musical stars who haven't been on The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody. He is also the only high musical star not to guest in any "Disney Channel Original Series" In June 2007, he returned on the green team from the Disney Channel Games with Dylan Sprouse, Miley Cyrus, Monique Coleman and Brandon Baker, and later starred in the 2008 Walt Disney Pictures film College Road Trip as Scooter, which features other Disney stars Raven-Symone, Brenda Song and Margo Harshman.
